E-edition batch upload option?

Lindy Bazner 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated by Christine Masters (Director of Product Management) 4 years ago 2
We use BLOX CMS to host our special sections using the e-edition tool. Is there an anticipated update to where we can batch upload our PDF pages, instead of uploading them one by one?

DFA Video Ads

Mike Stickler 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated by Christine Masters (Director of Product Management) 4 years ago 2
We've been wanting to start adding video content to the site (other than NDN players) and looking at ways to pay for that. So far the ad campaign's we've been offered are all DFA (doubleclick for advertisers api) based pre/mid/post roll ads.

In these cases the advertisers are supplying javascript which is not currently supported in the default video blocks and having them supply flv files is not an option.

Will you be adding DFA support in the near future?

Searching for businesses in the ad reports part of statistics

Patrick Brannan 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated by Christine Masters (Director of Product Management) 4 years ago 1
There needs to be an easier way of searching or finding the businesses when trying to set up a business report by position in the statistics admin. The businesses are just listed in the order they've had ads run and it makes it hard to find a business. If it was to sort alphabetically or even better be able to type into the search box it would be a big help.

Businesses submitting calendar events

It would be great if when a business was submitting a calendar event they could link their business listing to it, or otherwise have it connect.

TownNews.com networks unaffected by OpenSSL Heartbleed bug

You've probably heard of the Heartbleed bug. It's a nasty OpenSSL vulnerability that can allow attackers to snoop on communications, steal data and impersonate users. (Visit Heartbleed.com for more information.)

TownNews.com partners can rest easy. We're happy to report that our network, and all sites hosted with us, are protected from this vulnerability.

Is there a custom property that allows you to redirect one article asset to another?

Ellen Moseley 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated by Michael Becker 4 years ago 6
I thought I'd seen it in one of the "Pro Tips" webinars, but I can't make it work and I can no longer find those webinars on the site.

Thanks!

Does anyone have any good examples of using "geolocations" on their site?

I'd like to set them up for our site. But I need to know how to best use the information.

Contest application

Create a new contest application that allows customers to create new contests such as: Best of the Region, Cute Baby Contest, Best City, etc. It could tie into the Business Directory as a great addition to that product.

Subscription Transactions

Jason Schaefer 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated by Mike Stickler 4 years ago 5
Why do subscription transactions not get listed with other subscriptions (marketplace/subscriptions program)

I had to finally tell our accounting department (and give them access) to use the analytics program to verify revenue for subscriptions. I have a funny feeling the same will be true when we fully turn Ad-Owl on as well.

Persons Asset

Jason Schaefer 4 years ago in BLOX CMS • updated 4 years ago 2
One of the projects that I have on my list is a reference guide for medical professionals and health care facilities. The health care facilities are easily done by using your business directory.

After using the election stats program I was thinking that a similar asset for people would be handy to display contact information and other relevant information about the person. (I do not want our business directory filled with non-businesses)

Macros in TCMS using Chrome (or Firefox)

When creating stories and adding photos (that is, working with "Article" and "Image") there are an enormous number of repetitive clicks. For example, in an "Image" asset you click a button to add an image which shows a popup to click to get to the "Browse" dialog, which pops up across the screen from the first button ...)

Being able to use some basic macros, as in Excel, to get from A to B would save a great deal of time and go easier on everyone's wrists and arms.

Is anyone using a macro program on Macintosh successfully? I've tried OSX Automator but it is not giving me results.

When Creating an Employee under 'User'; I would like to see Edit HTML Source on the TAGLINE field.

When Creating an Employee under 'User'; I would like to see Edit HTML Source on the TAGLINE field.  This way I can be positive that at the end of each story, the authors email and hyperlink and font size is just right.
